The high–low check design introduces structure through a sculpted surface, with alternating pile heights creating a soft, dimensional finish underfoot. Grounded in natural tones, elevated through pistachio, almond, and coffee for contemporary spaces.

Each rug is hand-tufted by skilled artisans using dense, high-quality New Zealand wool, chosen for its durability, softness and natural texture.

Each Solum rug is produced in small batches to support a more considered approach to production and reduce unnecessary waste.

Limited quantities may result in select pieces becoming available for pre-order between production runs.

Once your order is placed, we’ll keep you updated throughout production and dispatch, so you can follow your rug’s progress through to delivery.

Designer's note

Modulus came from wanting to add dimension without noise. The high–low check isn't printed or woven in — it's built from alternating pile heights, so the pattern lives in the surface itself. In natural light, it shifts. Underfoot, it feels denser than it looks.

The colourways — pistachio, almond, coffee — were chosen to sit quietly in a room rather than anchor it. A piece that works with what's already there, and improves as the space evolves around it.

Yes — we offer 20 × 20 cm samples across all designs. Ordering samples allows you to see the true colour and texture in your own space before making a decision.

All Solum rugs are hand-tufted using 100% New Zealand wool. They are made by skilled artisans in GoodWeave-certified facilities in India, ensuring ethical production and responsible working conditions.

Rug placement can shape how a room feels. As a general guide:

Living rooms: front legs of furniture should sit on the rug
Bedrooms: the rug should extend beyond the sides of the bed
Dining: allow enough space for chairs to move comfortably
